Architecture photography has become one of my passions.  Not only is it incredibly fun and challenging to create beautiful images, but I get to see and spend time in some of the most amazing homes around southwest Montana.  I guess it is only natural I love to shoot architecture with my dad being an architect and my mom being an interior designer.  When I photograph architecture I really try to create a sense of place - I want the image to look as if you could step right into it, like you want to be there and experience the home as it was meant to be experienced.  To do this I try to use as much natural light as possible.  I want the home, the views, the furnishings to feel as real as possible.

Looking back on 2015 I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people and in gorgeous, stunning homes!  Seeing all the photos and remembering what it took to get a specific shot - especially the ones I photographed when I was 8 ½  months pregnant, ha!  Try moving heavy furniture with a big ol' belly:)   Some of the homes I photographed were featured in some pretty cool publications:

  • Architectural Digest

  • LA Times

  • Wall Street Journal

  • The Week Magazine

I have included some of my favorite shots of the year.

When I drove up to this house I knew we had chosen the absolute perfect day for the shoot.  The snow capped trees really added to the amazing furnishings.

I love this bedroom, the interior designers did a great job with the furnishings!  The pink in the flowers added the extra pop of color to really draw in your eye.

I could have stayed in this house forever... I think I mentioned that to the owner 1 or 20 times, ha!   The mountain views and the modern architecture made this home one of my favorites ever!

I love all the barn wood and the sliding doors.  The chair draws your eye right into the guest bedroom of this stunning home.

When I walked down the stairs and spotted this bar, I knew I had to shoot it right away.  The way the light was naturally coming in through the windows was perfection.  Add the bottle of wine and glasses and this is a bar I could sit at for a while:)

This office was so cozy I had to include it in my favorites.  I could sit in front of the fire with a cup of tea and read all day long.  Love it!

I love when interior designers choose the unexpected and surprise me with the cool patterns.  I love the animal prints and pops of color in this room.  The views aren't too shabby either!

The room is the perfect family room, I could see family game nights down here.  The stonework and fireplace create a really cozy space.

2015 was an amazing year and looking back on it makes me really excited to see what 2016 has in store.  Thank you to all the owners, designers, and architects for your amazing work!
